Betty Jo Waters, 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday night, March 16, 2024 in a local health care facility. She was born February 14th, 1932 at her parents home in Crandall, GA and moved to Cleveland in 1944 where she graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1950. After graduating from high school she attended college for 2 years in Collegedale. Betty married in 1956 and moved to Old Fort, TN to raise her family. Betty worked for 30 plus years at American Uniform Company retiring in 1994. She loved her husband Jim first, adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and loved gardening and canning vegetables. In 2018 she moved back to Bradley County and then in 2019 moved into Bradley Healthcare and Rehab Center where she passed away. Preceding her in death are her parents, Clarence Barnes and Sarah Maud Barnes; her husband, Jim B. Waters; son, Jimmy W. Waters; brother, Richard "Tommy" Barnes; and grandchildren, Samantha Bates, Tommy Waters and Aspen Pressley Jones. Left to cherish her memory are survivors, daughters, Mary Lynn (Jimmy) of Cleveland, Hazel Waters (Vance) of Old Fort; son, John Barnes (Racheal) of Old Fort; grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Joshua Jones, Stephanie Banks, Joseph Waters, Jeremy S. Jones, Jaxton Bates, Tevin Scott, Lauryn Scott, Sara Bates, Savanna Bates, Shelly Latuce, Tim Womack, Destiny Waters and Tyler Gray. A Remembrance of Life Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery. A white dove release will conclude the graveside service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Home and Cremation Services who is in charge of the arrangements.
