Mabel Rogers, 98, a life-long resident of Old Fort, passed away March 5, 2024 at Life Care Centers of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance (V.W.) Rogers; her parents, Beryl and Susie Bowman; her sisters, Meda Cox Mantooth, Mildred Smith, and Mary Carpenter; and her brothers, Dale Bowman, Gene Bowman, Victor Bowman, and Hubbard Bowman. She is survived by her son, Vance Rogers (Hazel); grandson, James Rogers (Chariti); and 3 great grandchildren, Layla Rogers, Madison Bush, and Hayden Ledford. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held graveside March 11, 2024 at 3 PM at the Conasauga River Baptist Church Cemetery with Mabel’s great granddaughter Madison Bush sharing memories and encouragement to the family. Pallbearers will be James Rogers, Josh Shubert, Hayden Ledford, Jesse Browder, and Grant Dunn. Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel has charge of the arrangements. I knew Miss Mable for almost 2 yrs as I was the pharmacy delivery . I fell in the LOVE with her and spent my ch time with her. She was just an amazing friend to me and made me feel so so special . It’s going to be hard doing my deliveries without her there .. So you to Miss Mable I love you and until we see each other again I love you KITTY!!!

She always had a smile when I saw her. And on days she didn’t recognize me all I had to do was say , I am Rats sister then she would open her door wide and say ‘oh my , you come on in, I just love that Rat’ and she would proceed to tell me all about Rat and VW being best friends . Her eyes would sparkle as she talked . She will be missed.
