Mary Elizabeth Sheldon

Mary Elizabeth Sheldon, 87, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 in a Gordon County health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Viva Woods and was also preceded in death by her first husband and father of her sons, Robert Martineaux; her second husband, Gary Sheldon; and her brother, Donald Woods. Mary was a well known and loved waitress working at many local restaurants including: Cherokee Hotel in the 60’s, Diplomat Hotel, Holiday Inn Keith St. and Cracker Barrel with over 20 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her sons, Alan Martineaux (Elizabeth Dawn) and Greg Martineaux (Ladonya); granddaughter, Raven Kaylor (Brad); great grandchildren, Audrey Martinez, Abram Martinez, Aliza Martinez and Axton Kaylor; along with several step children. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Monday at 4pm at Jim Rush Funeral Homes Wildwood Avenue Chapel. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 until 4pm at the funeral home.
