Rev. Albert Ellis, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away, September 10, 2017 at his home, with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Asbury and Emiline Ellis, his first wife Betty Martin Ellis, of 38 years, which was the mother of his children. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Eva Woody, 3 brothers, Gary Ellis, Frank Ellis, Tom Ellis, and 2 sisters, Renee Carden and Edith Bullard.He had served as pastor of the Benton Pike House of Prayer Church, for 56 years. The church and living for the Lord was his life. He served as pastor in Athens for several years. His first mission trip was to the Bahamas in the 1960's. He traveled to Jerusalem in the 1970's and he also went Trinidad, Jamaica, and Haiti. He has held revivals in churches, auditoriums and tents. Bro. Ellis has ministered in Georgia, Alabama, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania,Oklahoma . and Arizona, He also visited the Indian reservation in Arizona.He is survived by his present wife of 22 years, Barbara Ellis and a very SPECIAL daughter, Ava Ellis, his twin brother Alvin Ellis and wife, Hazel of Etowah, son-in-law Dwayne Woody, of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews.He is also survived by his church members that he loved and considered his family, some have been with him for 50 plus years, Roy and Sandra Prock.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Rev. Billy Fox, Rev. Alvin Ellis, and Bro Roger Marsh, and Bro. Eddie Scott officiating. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00 A. M. from the Sunset Memorial with Lynn Ellis, Dwayne Woody, Marshall Radford, Tim Prock, Keith Prock, and Reverend Blake Fowler serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
