Arthur Sluder, 90, of Tennga passed away Wednesday morning, April 20, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Magdalene Watson and Lens Calvin Sluder; his first wife, Effie Patterson Sluder; infant daughter, Brenda Sluder; his second wife Mattie Cain Sluder and brothers, Charlie and Johnny Sluder.He was known as a good man that would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed spending time with family. He always liked making a garden every summer to share with friends and family. He also enjoyed riding through the mountains and looking at God’s beauty. He always looked forward to going to Walmart on Saturday’s with his daughter.Survivors include his daughter, Denise Martin and her husband Jackie; sons, Calvin Sluder, Jimmy Sluder and his wife June, Jerry Sluder and his wife Sue, Anthony Sluder and his wife Rhonda; stepdaughters, Brenda Cates and her husband Junior and Glenda Brown; a special nephew, Elgin Patterson and his wife Frances; grandchildren, Tim Sluder and his wife Pam, Tabatha Jones and her husband Chad, Holly Bivens and her husband Benji, Deanna Goswick and Kristy Sluder; great grandchildren, Brady and Bryson Sluder, Lauren Stone, Caleb Duggan, Lindsay Bivens, Starla and Jade Goswick and Skylar Swan.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00pm from Liberty Baptist Church in Tennga with Pastor Charles Moore, Pastor Jackie Martin and Reverend Lamar Beason officiating. Interment will follow at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with Tim Sluder, Brady Sluder, Benjamin Bivens, Eddie Martin, Scottie Baker and Malcom Crisp serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
