Mr. Presswood was the son of the late Arlie Lee McKee Presswood and Frank Presswood. His step mother, Gertrude Presswood, his wife Retha Kate Gaston Presswood, his son, Bill Presswood Jr., his son in law, Jim Golden, his sisters, Helen Pate, Linda Presswood Suggs, Evelyn Jeanette Lee, Barbara Jean Presswood and his nephew, Chad Presswood also preceded him in death. Mr. Presswood was a W. W. II Navy Veteran serving as a signalman on the L.S.T. 474, landing ship tank. He owned and operated Presswood Wrecker for over 30 years. He was an active member of the L.S.T. Organization where he and his shipmates would work to restore some of the transport ships. Mr. Presswood was a member of the Evening Light Gospel Tabernacle.Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Willson and her husband Richard, Connie Golden all of Cleveland, his grandchildren, Jason Carson Presswood, Tyler Nye Presswood, Lindsey Willson, Jenna Willson, Natalie Golden, Ryan Golden, John Hensley and Steven Hensley, several great grandchildren, his stepson, Johnny Hensley of Cleveland, his sister, Virginia Presswood Davis, his brother Larry Presswood both of Cleveland, his special friend, Bertha McKee and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 4:00 P. M. from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with his brother, Larry Presswood officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. Military honors will be given. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P. M. Tuesday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
