Bobby Wayne Tilley, 68 passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side as he went to meet his Master. He had fought a short battle with cancer but today he is cancer free. He has now joined his loved ones in Heaven. He was born on February 24, 1946 to the late Rev. A.L. and Edna Tilley. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Bunch and Darlene Stiles. Mr. Tilley worked most of his life as an electrician for J.H. Electrical. He was an Army Veteran having served his country in Karisruhe, Germany. During his tour of duty he was promoted to Sergeant E5. He will receive full Military Honors at the time of his burial. He was a member of Ball Play Baptist Church for the past sixteen years. He had served as a Deacon since April 25, 2009. He loved his church family and being able to help others. He was a quiet gentle loving man, who enjoyed his family. He was a loving husband who liked to spend time with his wife riding through the country and going out to eat. He enjoyed being a father to his son and enjoyed spending time with him during his childhood and even into his adulthood as his son became a father himself. There were plenty of days spent fishing, deer and turkey hunting and treasure hunting together. He was so proud of his very special grandchildren, Brandon and Adeline. They were his everything and he was theirs. Brandon’s favorite thing to do with his papaw Bobby was riding in his Toyota on Saturday mornings to get biscuits at Hardee’s. He loved spending time with both Brandon and Adeline. Adeline liked those Toyota Saturday mornings, but most of all she loved it when her papaw Bobby would just tickle her and tickle her till finally they were both out of breathe. Even during his time of illness he never put his needs in front of the needs of others. He continued to pray for others even while he was in the battle for his life. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of forty years, Geneva Louise “Weezy” Tilley and one son, Tyrone Tilley. He leaves behind his two grandchildren, Brandon Tilley and Adeline Tilley. Special daughter in law Brittany Tilley whom he always thought of as a daughter and she always had a fondness for him as well. She helped care for him during the last few weeks of his life always letting him know how special he was to her. He is also survived by his brothers, Dean Tilley, Sonny Tilley (Stella), Harold Tilley (Linda), Donnie Tilley(Gail), sister, Carol Fain(Arlin). The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted Saturday afternoon, April 12, 2014 at 2:00 from the Ball Play Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Harris officiating.
