Clark age 85 a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday November 11, 2014 at the family residence. He was born and raised in the Meadowfork community outside Calhoun TN. He and his family moved to Cleveland in 1980.As a Baptist minister he pastored churches and held revivals all across east Tennessee. He was a retired union boilermaker with 34 years of service out of Boilermakers Local 454 in Chattanooga. All that knew him and worked with him knew him as “Preacher”. He became a Master Mason in 1952 and received his 50 year pin in 2002. He was a member of Cleveland Lodge #134 he was also a Shriner with Alhambra Temple in Chattanooga.He was preceded in death by his parents John T. and Ethyl Gertrude Clark, two brothers Burkett Clark and Johnny Clark and a sister Blanche Elrod.He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Julia Mazelle Clark two sons David W. Clark and his wife Diane, Gary E. Clark and his wife Vickie, three daughters Alma Maddux, Janie Keefe and Donna Von Nida, 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1pm Saturday at the Washington Ave Baptist church with Pastor Beecher White, Rev. Isaac Hicks and Rev. Dennis Leamon officiating. The interment will follow in the Cedar Grove cemetery in Athens TN., with Adam Houston, Greg Clark, Chris Dorsey, Caleb Key, Jonathan Abney and Rick McCoy serving as casket bearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kobe Jones and Patrick Moats. A masonic service will be conducted prior to the funeral at the church. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11am until 1pm at the church. The Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.Read Obituary
