Mr. Pendergrass was born in Birchwood, Tennessee on September 28, 1937 and he was the son of the late Daisy Jenkins Pendergrass and Clifton Pendergrass. His daughter, Patricia Lawson, his son Anthony Wayne Pendergrass, his brother John Pendergrass and his sisters, Nellie Lewis, Patsy Lee and Lena “Topsy”and his step daughter, Francie Rock also preceded him in death. At one point, Mr. Pendergrass resided in Flint, Michigan for nearly 40 years and retired from General Motors in 1992. He enjoyed old time country music and anything having to do with cars.Survivors include his wife, Gail of Rossiter, Pennsylvania, his daughters, Linda Nicholson and Tina Pendergrass both of Birchwood, his grandchildren, Lee Anthony Pendergrass, John McKinney, Jennifer Pendergrass, Jodie Stevenson and her husband Billy, Travis Lawson and Jeffrey Lawson, his great granddaughter, Seanna Stevenson, his sister, Bertha Sharpe, his stepchildren, Steve Barette, Valleri Barette and James B. Pendergrass and cousins, extended family and friends also survive.The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 P. M. from the McInturf Cemetery with Reverend Craig Dumont officiating. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
