James “Frog” Hicks age 75 a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 at the family residence. He was the son of the late Leland and Nora Carney Hicks and was also preceded in death by his brother Ronnie “Buckshot” Hicks and his brother in law Kenneth Satterfield. Frog worked for over 50 years in the construction business building bridges. He was a Bridge Foreman working with TVA and Simpson construction. He was an avid fisherman he loved to camp and was a huge NASCAR fan. He was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Dean Hicks, his daughters Carole Hicks, Brenda Maynard and her husband Artie and Dona Hicks all of Cleveland, his step sons Dewayne Lowe and his wife Lee Ann of Cleveland, Dennis Lowe and his wife Carman of Old Fort, his grandchildren Catie Poteet, Christie Poteet, Jack Hicks, Stephen Staley, Kirby Gentry, Ashley Indovino, David Lowe, Whitney Burnette, Lauren Willis and Tristen Lowe, 7 great grandchildren, his sister Nellie Satterfield of Cleveland, his brothers Ralph Hicks and his wife Margie of Cleveland and Carl Hicks and his wife Mai of Dickson TN., several nieces and nephews and many friends. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday at 4 o’clock at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Pastor Benny Watson and with Pastor Charles Moore officiating. The interment will be at 11am Monday at Greasy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Stephen Staley, Jack Hicks, Kenny Satterfield, Chris Cartwright, David Lowe, Tristen Lowe, Mike Inbovino and Anthony Willis serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary

Aunt Dean and family, our thoughts and prayers are with all. May the God of love and grace give you comfort and peace during this time as you hold dear all the sweet memories of the past. I loved watching the video tribute of Uncle James' life. He was loved and admired by many! We have always enjoyed our visits with you both.
