James J. Miessau Sr.

James J. Miessau Sr., age 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 in a Chattanooga health care facility. Mr. Miessau was the son of the late Sarah Butler Miessau and Henry Miessau. His first wife, Doris Beach, his second wife, Patricia Miessau, his sons, James Miessau Jr., Jeffrey Miessau and Wayne Miessau, his daughter, Michelle Jordan and his brother, Jackie Miessau also preceded him in death. Mr. Miessau was a mechanic with Pan Am Airlines with 33 years of service. He enjoyed working in his yard and woodworking. He enjoyed teaching his children how to fix things. Mr. Miessau was a member of the North Cleveland Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Linda Miessau of Cleveland, his daughters, Debra Bohac and her husband Don of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Melissa Whitfield and her husband Robert, Sherri Miessau all of Cleveland, Barbara Kennedy and her husband Justin of McDonald, his 20 grandchildren, his 19 great grandchildren, his step daughter, Amy Burdin of Cleveland, his step son, Bruce Huskey and his wife Katie of Lafayette, Georgia, his brothers, Bobby Miessau Sr. and his wife Clarice of Connecticut, Rich Miessau and his wife Lillian of Florida and William "Bill" Miessau and his wife Joan of Cleveland and several close nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00 from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Dr. Jay McClusky and Reverend Tim Woody officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Thursday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
