Jimmie Ann Mason Poe, 75, beloved wife of 57 years to George W. Poe Jr. and loving mother of Lisa, Lori and George passed away Friday February 23, 2018 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was the daughter of the late James Clifford “Doc” and Jewell Mason and was also preceded in death by an infant son George W. Poe III, her sister Pat Haun, and her surrogate mother Ella Haun. Jimmie Ann started Jimmie’s Flowers in 1977, and worked there until the day she became ill. She grew the flower shop to become one of the largest and most successful in Cleveland. Work, staying healthy, and keeping a clean house were very important to her, but not as important as her children. No one but GOD ever loved their children more. Jimmie and her husband George were members of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband George W. Poe Jr., daughters Lisa Poe-Jones and her husband Lonnie, Lori Elliott and her husband Dusty, her son George W. Poe IV and his wife Una, grandchildren Addison Elliott, Nicholas Poe-Jones, Allie Elliott and Haley Poe-Jones, her sisters Jean Beck and Debbie Lee. She is also survived by “her mother’s baby” Lexie, 9 grand-dogs including her favorites, Muff and Oscar, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Cleveland, Tracy City, and Arizona. Per Jimmie’s request a private family graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel has charge of the arrangements.

I didn't know Jimmie very well but saw her at church often. She always spoke and had a smile on her face. She did flowers for my daughters wedding and they were beautiful. She will be missed by all that sat around her. I pray for her husband George and her daughter Lisa. RIP.
