Mrs. Adkins was the daughter of the late Della Hunsucker Adams and Finley Adams. Her husband, George Adkins, her son, Billy Joe Adkins, her daughter in law, Dorothy Collins, her sister, Erella Addington and her brothers, Charles Finley Adams and Clifton Adams also preceded her in death. Mrs. Adkins enjoyed being around children and she loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a great great grandmother! She attended the Baptist Church.Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sue Browning and her husband Donald of Cleveland, her sons, Roger Collins of Morristown, Tennessee, Charles Finley Adkins of Etowah, Tennessee, her 7 grandchildren, her 17 great grandchildren, her 4 great great grandchildren, her daughter in law, Helen Adkins of Etowah, Tennessee, her sister, Artie Hensley of Phoenix, Arizona and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 March 24, 2015 from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend James Staton officiating. Interment will follow in the Cookson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Joey Morrow, Matthew Brown, Jacob Cooper, Trenton Adkins, Ron Collins, John Kincaid and John Paul Collins serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 just before the service at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
