Leon "Porky" Smith, age 66, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Wednesday morning, December 27, 2017 at the family residence. Leon was the son of the late Thelma Imogene Hindman Smith and James Stanley Smith. His sister, Margaret Smith and his brother, Jimmy Smith also preceded him in death. Leon worked in construction most of his life, specializing in drywall/sheetrock. He loved the outdoors including fishing and riding in the country. He was a huge Tennessee Volunteer Football fan and he attended the Baptist Church.Survivors include his daughter, Sherrie Brown and her husband Gary of Cleveland, his grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Kerrie, his 6 great grandchildren, his step son, Joseph Ownbey of Cleveland, his sisters, Freida Tinsley and her husband Paul of Georgetown, Betty Hughes of Cleveland, his brothers, Bill Smith and his wife Rhonda of Chattanooga, Wayne Smith and his wife Kathy of Birchwood, his longtime companion, Charla Smith of Georgetown and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Robert Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in the Cofer Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 2:00 Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements. I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Leon for a long time and considered him to be a very good friend. He will be missed. I will keep your family in my prayers.
Leon was always Happy when I Tammy Hughes/Lambert saw him and a he was good person. Never heard or seen anything bad in this man. R.I.P Leon.
So sorry to hear about Leon's passing, I have not seen him in years, I am praying that God gives you the peace and comfort that that is needed at this time
