Leona Ledford Browder

Leona Ledford Browder, age 83, a resident of Old Fort, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the family residence. Mrs. Browder was the daughter of the late Velma Carter Ledford and Frank Ledford. Her brothers, Roy Lee Ledford and Paul Henry Ledford also preceded her in death. Mrs. Browder was retired from American Uniform Company with many years of service. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and she enjoyed going to the Y. M. C. A. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very active member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Johnny Browder of Old Fort, her daughters, Beverly Dale and her husband Willie of Cleveland, Vickie Ownby and her husband Tillis of Old Fort, Patty Powell of Cleveland and Charlotte Cabrera of Old Fort, her 7 grandchildren, her 17 great grandchildren, her 4 great great grandchildren, her sisters, Alice Shipley of Cleveland, Joyce Swafford and her husband Clifford of Riceville, Tennessee, her brothers, Franklin Ledford and his wife Deidra of Gadson, Alabama, Harvey Ledford and his wife Helen of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Benny Ledford and his wife Katy of South Pittsburg, Tennessee and David Ledford of Atlanta, Georgia, special friend, Sharon Cavett of Old Fort and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Larry Humbard and Reverend Jackie Epperson officiating. Interment will follow in the Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
