Linda Marlene McCarty

Linda Marlene Weyandt McCarty of Cleveland TN., went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 16, 2018 at the age of 68. She was a loving wife, blessed mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt.Linda was preceded in death by her parents McClain and Leah Dively Weyandt of Claysburg PA. She was a graduate of Lee University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Master’s Degree. She was a second grade elementary school teacher serving her entire tenure of 29 years at Varnell Elementary School in Varnell GA. until her retirement. She was a longtime attendee of Faith Memorial Church in Cleveland where she often served in the food program ministry. She was a faithful contributor to several mission ministries both national and international. Her testimony of charity, passion and loving kindness will be greatly missed.Linda is survived by her loving husband Roy McCarty, her son Brett McCarty of Old Fort, daughter Erica McCarty Stevenson of Cleveland, her grandchildren MaKenzie McCarty of Old Fort, Gatlin McCarty of Old Fort, Amelia Stevenson and McKenzie Stevenson both of Cleveland, her sisters Carol Black of Claysburg PA., Leah Jean Tow of Charlotte NC., her nephews Kevin Tow and Travis Tow both of Charlotte, her special godchildren Jaicy and Ensleigh Olivas of Charleston TN., her loyal daughter in law Dana McCarty and faithful son in law Jonathan Stevenson and several other nieces and nephews of Pennsylvania.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday at Faith Memorial Church with Pastor Jimmy Dupree and Rev. Jerry Tow officiating. The committal service will follow at Lee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until service time at 3 at the church. The family request that donations in Linda’s memory be made to Faith Memorial Food Pantry, 910 17th Street NW Cleveland TN., 37311.
