I met Mark when he was 11 years old. Always the jokester, the clown, the equalizer, and the one ready to jump up and lead in whatever others would shy away from. This talent I saw in him when he was just a kid. That he grew up to be the same person as an adult, whom I knew as a kid, is no surprise at all.

His musical talent drew me in, and I was his accompaniment more times than I can count. What a gift he had, as I accompanied the trumpet trio of Joel, Mark & Anthony. WHAT A GREAT HARMONIC SOUND these 3 had together! Just beautiful!

A few years ago, Mark caught up with me, and we exchanged a few emails. He shared with me about his mom's passing, how he missed her so very much. Hearing of Mark's passing has left me in shock and sadness, both. Through friends and family / extended family in the Cleveland and Chattanooga area, I've heard some wonderful stories of Mark's loving kindness he showed continuously in his community of Cleveland . Everyone loved Mark!

Pastor Tom & Kevin, my heart breaks for your loss of Mark. It hasn't been so very long since your losing Pat. One thing for sure, you know they're together now. IMy heart and prayers are with you. Stay close together, allowing your wonderful memories and faith carry you until you meet again. R.I.P. in the loving arms of our Lord & Savior, Mark Steven Grissom. You'll always hold a very special place in all of my heartfelt fun and fond memories of you.

Tom,
I am shocked and saddened tonight to see a post on facebook with Marks eulogy and at first thought this must be joke, Mark and I were classmates at Worsham in a1984, and enjoyed many pranks, we only talked a handful of times over the last 30 years but it always seemed we just picked up where we left off, laughing! So sorry for your loss I know how much he loved you, by his Facebook post. Jose Corona at Bocken Funeral Home, Hammond, IN.

So many memories of Mark...all of them good. He used to keep us in stitches laughing when he was Sgt.-at-Arms in Rotary. I also saw the compassionate side of Mark with families he served in his business. Gone way too soon. If he were here now reading this he would probably quip something like..."Guess I had one too many Chicago Hotdogs." RIP, my friend. The world is a happier place because of you.

Mark was wonderful to my family when my father died. He did so much for us both immediately when preparing him for the funeral and during the proceedings themselves. In the years that have followed Mark has become a very good friend who never failed to make me smile and could always brighten my day. You will never be forgotten my friend! Rest In Peace!!!
