Marvin G. Denton

Marvin G. Denton, 86, of Cleveland, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at his home. He is the son of the late Elizabeth Walker Denton and George Denton. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Jean Denton; grandson, Clayton Kesley and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Denton worked for Quaker Oats for 17 years and then Owned and Operated Denton Construction. He loved to woodwork. Marvin was a member of the Living Waters Pentecostal Church of God. Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Beavers and her husband Larry, Marlene Ownby and her husband Travis, all of Cleveland, Judy Helton and her husband Gene of Hixson; sons, Melvin Denton and his wife Renee of Chattanooga, Terry Kesley and his wife Penny of Selmer, TN, Eddie Kesley and his wife Sylvia of Cleveland and Tommy Kesley of Chattanooga; sister, Katherine White; brothers, George Denton, Dick Denton, Warney Denton, Billy Denton and Jimmy Denton; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 3:00pm from Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Avenue Chapel with Reverend Terry Kesley officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery with Marvin’s grandsons serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 12:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
