Mary Huggins Bigelow, age 93, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday evening, September 15, 2016 in a local hospital. Mrs. Bigelow was the daughter of the late Leona Rutherford Huggins and Elmer Huggins. Her husbands, Ernest Higgins and Roderick Bigelow, her daughter, Judy Fay Ownby, her sons, Ernest Q, Higgins, David M. Higgins, her sisters, Mable Knowles, Betty Roper-Knowles, Billie Diane Dye, Jenny Self, Jean Vaneaton and her brothers, Tipton Huggins and Clarence Huggins also preceded her in death. Mrs. Bigelow was a home maker most of her life but retired after 8 years of service from ConAgra. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and canning. She loved gospel music and talking to people about the Lord. Mrs. Bigelow attended the Church of God.Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte F. Higgins of Greenville, Kentucky, Shirley V. Higgins of North Carolina, Carolyn A. Higgins of Douglasville, Georgia, her sons, James A. Scott and his wife Patty, Larry Charles Taylor and his wife Lois Ann all of Cleveland, Ronald D. Higgins of Savannah, Georgia, her 31 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, her brother, Jerry Huggins of Cleveland, her special niece and caregiver, Helen Williams and her husband Ray of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2:00 from the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Minister Larry C. Taylor and Lois Ann Littlefield Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Hays Shed Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Sunday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
