Paul D. Humberd, age 82, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away early Tuesday morning in a local hospital. Mr. Humberd was the son of the late Nellie Cathey Humberd and Earnest Humberd. His brother, E. J. Humberd and his brother in law, Stanley Eldridge also preceded him in death. Mr. Humberd was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. For many years he was a partner in Cleveland Express Trucking Company. Along with his wife Betty, he owned and operated One Hour Cleaners on Inman Street. He was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge #134 F&AM and the Alhambra Shrine in Chattanooga. Because of his service he earned the Honorary Degree of 33rd Degree Mason. Mr. Humberd was a member of the First Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Eldridge Humberd of Cleveland, his son, Steve Humberd and his wife Leslie, his special granddaughters, Amy, Emily and Katy Humberd, his sister, Leola Evans, his brother, Johnnie L. Humberd and his wife Barbara, his brothers in law, Don Eldridge and Johnny Eldridge and his wife Juanita, his sister in law, Virge Eldridge and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 from the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Tom Moncrief and Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Jeff Eldridge, Terry Evans, Alan Humberd, John Nerren, Bryan Eldridge and Robert Eldridge serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P. M. Thursday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
