Phillip Wesley “Doogie” Houghton, age 78, a resident of McDonald, passed away Monday afternoon in a Chattanooga hospital. Mr. Houghton was the son of the late Agnes R. Lance Houghton and John Thomas Houghton. His brother, Benjamin T. Houghton also preceded him in death. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran Retired with 20 years of service. During his service he worked as an electrician. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing golf and being outside working in his yard. More than anything, he loved helping other people and spending time with his family! Mr. Houghton was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tullahoma, Tennessee.Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Dunagin Houghton of McDonald, his daughter, Deanna Rich and her husband Les of Sevierville, Tennessee, his sons, Lance Houghton and his wife Heidi, Mark Houghton and his wife Sharon all of McDonald, his grandchildren, Mallory, Mandy, Johnny and Tommy Houghton, Tonique, Devin and Sierra Meintzer and Robby Jones and several nieces and nephews also survive.A Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be conducted Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:00pm from the Tullahoma Seventh Day Adventist Church, 908 Cedar Ln, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
