Phillip Lawson

Phillip Lawson age 90 a resident of Charleston Tennessee passed away Monday afternoon at the family residence. Mr. Lawson was the son of the late Andrew and Lawson and was also preceded in death by his brothers Hobert Lawson and Uless Lawson, his sisters Mary Lee Newman and Grace Lane.Mr. Lawson was a lifetime member of the Washington Daylight Masonic Lodge #14 in Washington D.C. and was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. During his time in the Army he received numerous medals and awards including the Purple Heart.He is survived by his sons Carson Lawson and his wife Mary of Cleveland, Randy “Bear” Lawson of Charleston and 2 grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11am Thursday at the North Ocoee St. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Mitchell Wright officiating. The interment will follow in the Chilcutt cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
