Rev. Ronald Thomas Powell age 75 a resident of Georgetown passed away September 7, 2016 at the family residence. He was the son of the late Paul and Martha Smith Powell and was also preceded in death by his daughter Melissa Gail “Missy” Powell and his nephew Robby Munger.Ronnie was a self-employed barber, auctioneer and a long time car dealer. He was also an ordained minister and evangelist in the Baptist faith. He loved ministering to lost souls. He also loved golf, baseball and collecting old tractors. He was a member and Elder of the Savanah Baptist Church.He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Gail Davis Powell, his daughters Tammy Rader and her husband Donnie of Cleveland, Deanna Arthur and her husband Russ of Cleveland, Paula Haney of Cleveland and Melanie Garrison and her husband Shannon of Dayton, his grandchildren Tommy Hayes, Andy Hayes and his wife Lauren, Tiffany Ogle, David Rader and his wife Ashley, Daniel Rader and his wife Michelle, Charlie and Emily Haney, Brinley and Bryce Garrison, great-grandchildren Braxton and Kesslee Armstrong, Caylie and Knox Rader, Kash Hayes and Madeline McGee, his sisters Judy Weinmann and her husband Mike, Linda Sherlin and her husband Terry, his nephew Rusty Munger and his niece Rhonda Boller.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday at Savanah Bay Baptist Church, 8018 Ooltewah-Georgetown Rd. Ooltewah TN., 37363. Officiating clergy will be Rev. Gurney Beard and Pastor Randy Chestnut. The interment will follow in the New McDonald Cemetery, formerly known as Greenwood Cemetery, on Snow Hill Rd. in Ooltewah with Jim Davis, Eddie Williams, Walter Hickman, Donnie Holder, Kenneth Moore, Doug Cofer and Gilbert Moon serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Bobby Runyan, Michael Sturkey, Tommy and Andy Hayes, Charlie Haney, Bryce Garrison and Braxton Armstrong. The family will receive friends Friday from 4pm until 9pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel and from 2pm until 3pm Saturday at the church.
