I first met Roy back when he worked at Lee, and I knew him only as "Robbie's Dad." Who knew that someday, many years later, he would become my "Uncle Roy." What a blessing he has been to me and my family!!! I doubt I've met a kinder man. Always eager with a smile, hug, a compliment, and praise of our Savior. He will be greatly missed❤️

I remember Roy going with our SCCOG youth group on several roller skating outings. I was so amazed at how well he could skate. I loved watching him glide around with ease. He skated backward as easy as forward. He made it look so easy. A natural! He’ll be missed! Wonderful Man and a true Man of God.
Well Done Roy!

As a fairly new Christian when I first visited Cleveland, I was astounded by Roy Sherlin and his entire family! They sat down to eat and thanked the Lord. They enjoyed watching praise and worship and even paid money for cd's! They were involved in church. I had never been exposed to, or known an entire family who loved Jesus. And their hospitality and generosity to me was great. The impact on my life was tremendous! I moved to Cleveland a few months later, and during my 15 years there I grew in the Lord! There is no doubt that many others were also impacted. So Roy Sherlin's legacy goes beyond Tennessee as I am now an AG Pastor in Texas! Praise God for his life!

I remember as a youth at South Cleveland COG, Roy and Boog would take a group of us young teens fishing and camping. We always had a blast and Roy loved the outdoors. Likewise as an adult, we enjoyed camping with Roy and Alice at Elkmont and lots of our other family and friends. Oh, we always had a ball. There was never a dull moment with Roy around. Roy will be greatly missed but the great memories live forever!

Prayers for his great family,

Ken Ogle, Cuz
