Ruby Mildred Murray, age 94, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Athens Place Assisted Living in Athens, Tennessee. A native of Cleveland where she lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Martha Jane Roberts Murray and Eugene Thomas Murray. Her special cousin, Eleanor Dannel also preceded her in death. Mildred Murray was a graduate of Bradley Central High School in 1941 and Mckenzie School of Business. She taught School at Birchwood for several years then began her career as a bookkeeper at Cleveland Utilities in September of 1955 and continued till her retirement on October of 1998. She was a devoted Christian and a life-long Cumberland Presbyterian. She was a member of the New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian for many years where she served as Sessions Clerk of Elders and Deacons. She has been an active member of First Cumberland Presbyterian of Cleveland for more than forty years until her health declined. Mildred Murray was a very talented business woman and very gifted with numbers. She had numerous friends, family members and was loved by many!Survivors include her caregiver and cousin, Reverend Mike Dannel and his wife Michelle of Athens, their children, Matt Dannel, Megan and Tyler Bailey all of Knoxville, her caregiver and first cousin, Francis Swafford and her husband Jim, their son, Brian Swafford and his wife Patty their children, Cody and Courtney Swafford all of Cleveland and numerous loving cousins and relatives of the Murray and Roberts family also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Mike Dannel and Reverend Jennifer Newell officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Cemetery in Prospect with Matt Dannel, Bobby Roberts, Charles Thompson, Brian Swafford, Lawrence Gentry and Jeff Morelock serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 P. M. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
