Summer Joy Propes, age 28, a resident of Ooltewah, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in a Chattanooga health care facility. Summer was preceded in death by her Maternal grandmother, Loray Herring Perkins, her Paternal grandparents, Jewell D. Propes and Hoke S. Propes, her aunt, LaJuana Perkins and her uncle, Lamar Perkins. Being special needs didn't stop Summer from graduating High School. She loved watching the Disney Channel, riding her Adult Miami Sun Trike, her Build a Bears and she loved to eat! Summer loved people and she was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God.Survivors include her mother and father, LaQuita Joy Propes and Dr. M. Thomas Propes of Ooltewah, Tennessee, her brother, Reverend Matthew Thomas Propes and his wife Jennifer of Tifton, Georgia, her nephew, Mark Thomas Propes, her maternal grandfather, Reverend Virgil L. Perkins and his wife Joyce of Whigham, Georgia, her aunt, Beverly Perkins, her cousin, Victor Perkins both of Brunswick, Georgia, her God Sister, Angel Flournoy of Athens, Georgia and several other extended family members and friends also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. from the North Cleveland Church of God, Main Sanctuary with Dr. David Griffis, Dr. Tim Hill, Dr. Mark Williams and Reverend Matthew T. Propes officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rob Bailey, Gary Lewis, Jim Spivey, Dr. Kevin Henry M.D., Lexi Bailey and Michael Reynolds serving as active casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be, Ron Martin, Murray Hand, Eddie Allen, David Blair, Dwight Spivey, Martin Taylor, Thomas Gillum, Norman Black, Bill Claypoole, Kip Box and Tim Cushman. The family request that in lieu of flowers, Memorials be made in Summer's name to Church of God World Missions, 2490 Keith Street N. W. Cleveland, Tennessee 37311. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 2:00 Friday at the North Cleveland Church of God, Main Sanctuary.
