Alice Douglas Thomas

Alice Douglas Thomas, age 105, resident of Cleveland, TN, entered her eternal home, Saturday, April 30, 2022 at a local health facility. She was born July 7, 1916, in Alachua, Florida. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God, the Unity Class, Geneva Circle, and the Red Rose Group. Alice was the daughter of the late Charlie and Christine Dowling Douglas of Union County, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E. C. Thomas, former General Overseer of the Church of God, daughter Cheryl Love, sisters: Annie Douglas Robinson, Thelma Douglas Horton, Beatrice Douglas Inches; brothers, George and Bland Douglas, nieces, Sandra Dunkley and Corrine Hamby, and special friend and nephew, Dr. Walter P. Atkinson Survivors include daughter, Charmaine Thomas of Piercy, CA, son-in-law, Mike Love of Cleveland TN; grandchildren: James Love, Christifer Love, Victoria Love, Nathan Love of Cleveland, TN, Summer Ridinger , Piercy CA and Robert (Bo) of Boise, Idaho; several grandchildren, nieces Delilah Stites, Jacksonville, Fl and Christine Joyner, Candler,NC. and special friend and caregiver, Oleda Atkinson Ratchford. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 4 at 11am at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 until 11am at the funeral home. By special request from Alice, Pastor Oleda Atkinson Ratchford and Pastor Reita Atkinson Ball will officiate. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
