Anna Ruth Day

Anna Ruth Day, 89, a resident of Cleveland and formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the family residence. Mrs. Day was born in Island, Kentucky and she was the daughter of the late Carmen Markwell Owens and Dewey Owens. Her husband, Melvin Day and her brother, Leon Owens (Monna Jean Owens) also preceded her in death. Mrs. Day was a loving homemaker. Her family and church was her life. In Ohio, she was a member of the North Murray Ridge Church of God for over 60 years. She was very active in her church including serving as Sunday School Secretary for many years. She also held offices with the Ladies Willing Workers (Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Ministry) including President and Secretary. She also played the piano. Since moving to Cleveland, she was a member of the South Cleveland Church of God.Survivors include her daughter, Sharon "Windy" McPherson of Cleveland, grandchildren, Blake McPherson (Alesha), Stacie Norman (Jeff), great grandchildren, Trooper Norman, Finn McPherson all of Cleveland, sister, Jeanine Abshier of Owensboro, Kentucky, several nieces and nephews.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Pastor Ken Bowers officiating. Interment will be in Elyria, Ohio at the later date. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 P. M. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
