Barbara Ann Hackney

Barbara Hackney, age 84, a resident of Old Fort passed away Thursday May 20, 2021 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth Soward and was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Hackney Jr. and her son Michael Hackney.Barbara retired from Whirlpool with many years of service. She then went to work at Walmart as a cashier with over 14 years of service. She was a member of Westmore Church of God.She is survived by her daughters Vickie Hackney, Lisa Hackney and her companion Dathan Clark, Annette Hall and her husband Jimmy, her grandchildren Chase and Collin Ellis, her sister Helen Wilcox and several nieces and nephews.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Saturday at 3pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Rev. Joe Parker officiating. The interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 3 at the funeral home.
