Barbara Jean Brummett Teaster

Barbara Jean Brummett Teaster, age 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday in a Chattanooga health care facility. Barbara was born in Virginia and she was the daughter of the late Ethel Ray Brummett and Aaron Brummett. Her brothers, Paul Aaron Brummett, Herbert Brummett and James "Kimo" Brummett also preceded her in death. Barbara received her Associates degree from Cleveland State Community College and she received her Bachelors degree in Education from Lee University. She taught English as a second language for the Bradley County School System for 15 years. She retired from the Church of God International Headquarters, Mission Department with 10 years of service as their Archivist. Barbara enjoyed researching her family and genealogy but most of all she loved being a grandmother! She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Barbara was a 60 year member of the North Cleveland Church of God where she was very active including being a long time member of the Crusader Choir.Survivors include her sons, Stephen Lee Teaster II, Esq. and his wife Renea of Inverness, Florida, Dr. David Sean Teaster and his wife Shauna of Knoxville, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Ashley Teaster, Megan Teaster, Emily Teaster, Leslie Teaster and Khylee Teaster, her sister, Phillis Lancaster and her husband Doug of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:00 P. M. at the North Cleveland Church of God, Dixon Chapel with Bishop Lamar Vest, Pastor Mitch Maloney and Pastor Mark Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 1:00 Saturday at the North Cleveland Church of God, Dixon Chapel.
