Billy G. Farmer Sr., age 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday evening, May 9, 2019 in a Knoxville hospital. Mr. Farmer was the son of the late Mary Martha Stevison Farmer and Henry Clay Farmer. His wife, Barbara G. Farmer, his sister, Ruth Farmer Lavercombe, his brothers, Clay Clyde Farmer and his wife Kristen, Jay Lake Farmer and his wife Ruthie, his brother in law Aaron Williams and his nephew William Clayton Cunningham also preceded him in death. Mr. Farmer worked with his father farming and logging. He also owned and operated Farmer Sinclair Station on 58 Highway for many years. He worked at Duracell and retired from Charleston Hosiery Mills. He loved the outdoors including fishing and working in his vegetable garden. Mr. Farmer was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include daughter, Angie Farmer of Cleveland, his son, Billy G. Farmer II and his wife Kimberley of Englewood, his grandchildren, William Lee Farmer of Franklin, North Carolina, Bradley J. Farmer of Englewood and Stephanie C. Anderson of Cleveland, his sister, Emma Williams of Decatur and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Reverend Mike Rymer officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnston Cemetery in Meigs County with William Lee Farmer, Bradley J. Farmer, Larry Brown, Scott Harris, David Williams and Ricky Bowers serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 P. M. Sunday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
