Camellia Sue Meridieth, age 78, a resident of Hapeville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 in an Ooltewah health care facility. Mrs. Meridieth was the daughter of the late Eva Christine Snellings and Lewis Samuel Fordham. Her husband, Carl Howard Meridieth and her sister, Margaret Nelson also preceded her in death. Mrs. Meridieth worked in various professional capacities throughout her life including the operation of a day care, management of the Hapeville public swimming pool, and service to the city as a school crossing guard. However, her primary role was a homemaker. Her family and her church were her life! She never met a stranger and witnessed to others about the Lord almost every day. Camellia loved everyone fully by ministering to the “least of these” without regard to social status, stage of life, or spiritual maturity. Mrs. Meridieth was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Church of God all of her life and she was a member of the Fayette Family Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. Survivors include her daughters, Gina Ferguson of Canton, Ohio, Tonya Cook and her husband Phil of Cleveland, her son, Brian Meridieth of Hapeville, Georgia, her grandchildren, Brandon Ferguson and his wife Allison, Joshua Ferguson, Meridieth Cook, Megan Cook, Camellia "Cammie" Ferguson, Drew Cook, Maggie Ferguson, her great grandson, Colin Ferguson, and several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service will be conducted Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 A. M. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Phillip Cook Sr. officiating. Family and friends will serve as casket bearers. For Mrs. Meridieth's church family and other friends, there will be a Memorial Service conducted on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 7:00 P. M. at the Fayette Family Church, 1729 Highway 54 W., Fayetteville, Georgia. Officiating clergy will be her son-in-law, Phil Cook, Pastor Jerry Young and Joey Josey. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Friday at the church. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
