Carolyn Faye Burris

Carolyn Faye Burris, age 69, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday morning in a local hospital. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Eula Paul West and Reverend Bud West. Her sister Gladys Bullard also preceded her in death. At the time of her death, she worked for Lee University with 9 years of service. Carolyn enjoyed working with crafts, antiques and sewing. When it comes to sewing, there is nothing she could not make! She was considered a selfless, compassionate lady and she loved giving herself and doing anything to take care of her family! She was a member of the Cleveland Baptist Temple.Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Ephron L. Burris of Cleveland, her daughter, Marquetta Burris, her son, Nathan Burris both of Cleveland, her sister, Judy Toomey of Cleveland, her brothers, Lonnie West of Pittsboro, North Carolina, Walter West and Ralph West both of Cleveland and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. from the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Greg Rush officiating. Nathan Burris, Gabe West, Josh West, Ethan West, Alex West and Scott Fain will serve as casket bearers.
