Charles Douglas Beaty Sr. 87, a resident of Cleveland passed away Monday March 7, 2022 in a local hospital. He was the son of the late Rev. Rufus and Myrtle Beaty and was also preceded in death by his grandson Houston Boggess and step-daughter Denise Culpepper. Prior to retirement, He was employed by Star Dust Cruiser Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Alaska Interstate as a comptroller. Being an avid sports fan, he loved watching his grandchildren play their sport. He wasn’t one to be idle, so he kept busy gardening and taking care of his rental properties. He also loved meeting with friends for breakfast, the “Table of Wisdom” group, at the Hardee’s on 25th Street. Above all, he was a devout Christian. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sue Beaty; children: Doug Beaty Jr. (Tracey), Sharon Colaw (Brad), Chris Beaty (Marishka), Mike Beaty (Erika Lambert), Mike Boggess (Kim), Elaine Wear (Donnie), Gary Boggess, and, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Friday at 2pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, North Ocoee St. Chapel with Chris Beaty and Dr. Steve McDonald officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Friday from 12 until 2 at the funeral home.
