Charles Osborne Patterson Sr., age 78, a resident of Polk County, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in a local hospital. Charles was born in Cleveland on July 27, 1942 and he was the son of the late Nancy Elizabeth Howard Patterson and John Osborne Patterson. His brother in law, Buddy Stinnett also preceded him in death. Charles has lived in Bradley County and Polk County. He worked at Magic Chef and Bradley Central High School. He loved working in the yard. He enjoyed going to Cades Cove and fishing. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Most of all he loved his wife and Jesus! Charles was a faithful member of the Mercy Tabernacle in Polk County for more than 25 years and then he has been a faithful member of the Spoken Word Tabernacle in Cleveland for more than 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Susan A. Patterson of Benton, Tennessee, his daughters, Nancy Patterson, Dorothy Worthey and her husband Max, his son, Charlie Patterson Jr. and his fiancé, Jessica Seymour, his grandchildren, Crystal Pritts and her husband Matt, Charlie Stiles and his wife Amber, Susan Patterson, Brianna Patterson, Nathan Patterson and his wife Nancy and Tammy Pike and her husband Josh, his 11 great grandchildren, his sisters, Eva Stinnett, Mary Atkins and several nieces and nephews also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel with Brother Burkett McCann and Brother Joe Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Cohulla Baptist Church Cemetery with Charles Patterson Jr., Charlie Stiles, Nathan Patterson, Eddie Gentry, Max Worthey, Matt Pritts and Josh Pike serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 P. M. Sunday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
