Cleta "Nana" Hood Collins

Cleta "Nana" Hood Collins, age 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday evening, January 5, 2020 at the family residence. Mrs. Collins was born in Dayton, Tennessee and she was the daughter of the late Hatti Wright Hood and Gentry Lee Hood. Her husband, Chester Lee Collins, her sisters, Pat Sharits, Faye Parker, Mary Lou Hill, her brothers, Don Hood and Reverend Reed Wright, her niece, Crystal Sharits, her nephew, Barry Parker and her brother in law, William "Bill" Hill also preceded her in death. Mrs. Collins worked as head cashier for the Watson's Super Markets for 25 years. Along with her husband, they owned and operated Mt. Zion Discount for 19 years, where she lovingly created flower arrangements for the community. She also enjoyed quilting and working in her flowers. Mrs. Collins attended the Baptist Church.Survivors include her loving daughter, Dana Laster of Cleveland, her granddaughter, Courtney Redd and her husband Chris of Charleston, her selected daughter, Shantae Thompson and her children, Nash and Ryder Morris, her sister, Cheryl L. White and her husband Ray of Cleveland, her brother, Reverend Johnny Hood and his wife Shirley also of Cleveland, her sister in law, Doris Ann Wright, her brother in law, Jim Sharits and many loved nieces and nephews also survive. The Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 4:00 P.M. at the Stanfield Baptist Church Cemetery with her brother, Reverend Johnny Hood officiating. Casket Bearers will be Chris Redd, Kevin Hill, Shane Maddux, Nash Morris, Ryder Morris and Micah White. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 P.M. Wednesday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
