Cleyta M. Andrews

Cleyta M. Andrews, 76, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday in a Chattanooga hospital. Cleyta was born in Asheville, North Carolina and she was the daughter of the late Lillian Jane Bradley McElroy and John M. McElroy. Her brother, Cavin V. McElroy also preceded her in death. She was a 1963 graduate of George Butler High School in Augusta, Georgia and she was part of the first graduating class of this school. She received her Associates degree from Roane State Community College in Kingston, Tennessee and she received her Bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Cleyta was a Certified Public Accountant with 30 years of service. She worked for the Johnson, Hickey and Murchison Accounting Firm in Chattanooga where she was made a partner. Because she loved her work and after her retirement, she worked for 6 years at the G. R. Rush Accountants in Chattanooga during tax season. She enjoyed walking, traveling to the ocean and she also had a love for Lighthouses. Cleyta was a member of the First Baptist Church here in Cleveland.Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Warren C. Andrews of Cleveland, daughters, Shannon Holland (John), Cleveland, Melissa Davis (Travis), Brooke Andrews Cooper all of Elizabethton, Tennessee, grandchildren, Charlie Beshears (fiancé, Karson Beverly), Carrie Brock (fiancé, Dustin Davis), Emily Brock, Lilie Kiser, Leah Kiser, great grandchild, Mia Davis, sister, Karen Edwards (Mike), Evans, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 3 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Gene Brock officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Baptist, Cleveland Generations Fund or to Shepherd's Arms Rescue Mission, Chattanooga, Tennessee The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P. M. Thursday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
