Cynthia Ann Clancy Powers ("Cindy"), age 58 and a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Cindy was born in Rochester, New York, where she graduated from Brighton High School. She received her Bachelors Degree from Colgate University and her Masters Degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. For many years, she worked in New York City in printing sales. Since making Cleveland her home 25 years ago, she has been an active volunteer in the community as a board member and volunteer for both the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County and Family Cornerstones. A cherished wife, mother, and friend, Cindy enjoyed traveling with her family and hosting loved ones to enjoy her wonderful Lebanese cooking. She was also an avid reader and bridge player. Cindy was a member of the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sylvia Nassar Morris and Jack Clancy. Survivors include: her husband of 32 years, Joseph Powers of Cleveland; her children, Meghan and Justin Powers, both of Nashville, Tennessee; her father, Richard Morris of Rochester, New York; and her brother, John Morris of Nashville, his wife Mariann, and their three sons. Her surviving family also includes her mother- and father-in-law, Rosemary and Arthur Powers of Bay Shore, New York, and her husband’s siblings, John Powers, Elizabeth Healy, Suzanne Houlihan, and Kathleen Walser. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 1:00 P. M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan and Deacon Steve Ratterman officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Box of Rain Fund at the Community Foundation of Cleveland and Bradley County.
