Dee Ellis

Dee Ellis age 83 a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the family residence. He was the son of the late Zack and Kate Ellis and was also preceded in death by his brothers Hoyt Ellis, Percy Ellis, Doc Ellis, Lum Ellis and Oley Ellis and his daughter in law Valerie Ellis. Dee was an avid hunter and fisherman and retired from Cleveland City Parks and Recreation Department with 19 plus years of service. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jearline Jones Ellis, his children Larry and Peggy Ellis, John Ellis, Audrey Ellis and Robin and James Gibbs, his grandchildren Amy Chastain and her husband Craig, Kurt Ellis and his wife Annette, Tiffany Simpson, A.J. Murray, Josh Ellis, Dustin Rogers and his wife Joanna, Chris Rogers and his wife Lisa, Jennifer Cooper and her husband Denzil and Abby Cranfield, great grandchildren Blake, Jacob and Aiden Chastain, Patrick Ellis, Richard “Bubba” Simpson, Jazzy Simpson, Zach and Claire Murray, Caedmon Rogers, Sierra Rogers, Maddux and Braydon Cooper, Serenity Cranfield, and several extended grandkids and great grandkids. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 1 o’clock Sunday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave Chapel with Dee’s son Larry Ellis and Pastor Wayman Cooper officiating. The interment will follow in the Towee Falls Baptist Church cemetery, 1336 Towee Falls Rd., Tellico Plains TN., 37385, with his grandsons serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary
