Dollie Belle Davis Griffith, 89, a resident of Bradley County, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord September 2, 2017, in a Chattanooga, Tenn., Life Care facility, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Dollie was born June 26, 1928, in Alamo, Wheeler, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Jessie (May Belle) Brown Davis and Jackson (Jack) Millard Davis. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Robert Griffith and her 6 brothers, Calvin Leon (C. L. ), Claude, Gilbert, Virgil, Roger and Roy Davis. She was a long standing member of Union Grove Church of Christ. Dollie was a hard worker until the end. From a young age she worked on farm land and later she sewing garments for mills in several states. Dollie loved writing and had many articles and stories published in the Cleveland Daily Banner and other small publications. She also enjoyed writing poetry, but most of all she loved to write and receive hand written letters from family, friends and pen pals across the country. Dollie also loved taking pictures and was rarely seen without her camera. She took great joy in sharing the photos of nature she took.She will be greatly missed by all her many nieces, nephews and friends. We all love you, Aunt Dollie!A Remembrance of Life Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, 11:30 a.m. at Union Grove Church of Christ.
