Doris Jo Cross

Doris Johnson Cross, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away during the early hours on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at her home with family at her side. She was the daughter of the late Grady Johnson and Nellie Elizabeth Johnson. Her daughter, Carolyn Jo Wheeler and her sons, Rodney Wheeler and Jeffrey Dale Wheeler and several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Doris was a member of the Church of God and was retired from Life Care Centers of Cleveland.Survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Rodriguez of Cleveland, Vickie Wheeler of Alabama; two sons, Johnny Wheeler of Alabama, Daniel Wheeler of Cleveland; two brothers, Ronald Willis and Paul Willis; one sister, Dorothy Gravelle all of Cleveland. Seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes. Interment will follow in Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services who is in charge of the arrangements.
