Dorothy Hazel Johnson Higbee

Dorothy Hazel Johnson Higbee, age 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the family residence surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born July 11, 1928 in Longview, Washington and she was the daughter of the late Ella Grace Ullrich Johannessen who was from Oregon and Edward Johannessen who was from Ostfold, Norway. Her husband, Charles Higbee, her grandson, Thomas Tapley III and her older sister, Anna also preceded her in death. Mrs. Higbee attended and graduated from R. A. Long High School in Longview, Washington. Dorothy worked for years as a book keeper with Sears and Roebuck Company's office until her retirement. She spent hours working in her beautiful flower garden and she would always give them away to neighbors and friends. Along with her husband Charles she enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, boating and going to the Longview Yacht Club. Dorothy attended New Life Fellowship Church of God in Longview, Washington for many years.Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Tapley and her husband, Reverend Thomas Tapley of Cleveland, her granddaughter, Sandy Cochran and her great grandsons, Zack Cochran and Devin Martin all of Cleveland also survive.The Remembrance of Life Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2019 at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel from 4:00 until 6:00 P. M. Burial will take place at a later time in Longview, Washington. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
