Edith Roach Redmon age 93 passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 2, 2019. She was a member of Cottonport Baptist Church in Decatur. She retired from Duracell after 20 years. She was well known for her hobby of quilting and Crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to 5 generations. She will be greatly missed. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Clifford Floyd Redmon, grandson Brad Jackson, sisters Essie Roach Young (Buck Young), Grace Roach Lee (W.C. Lee), Lucille Roach Cross (Layman Cross), Laura Roach Hudgins (Homer Hudgins), one brother Chester Roach (Lorie Roach), 3 half-brothers, one half-sister and several step siblings. She is the daughter of the late William Roach and Arlie Johnson Roach. She is survived by her four children Clifford “Butch” Redmon (Wanda), Frances Caldwell (Bobby), Bill Redmon (Becky), Barbara Swafford (Jewell), grandchildren Tammy Williams, Tracy Jackson, Jason Caldwell, Brian Caldwell, Nick Redmon, Paige Finnell, Tina Gallaher and several generations of great grandchildren. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Thursday at 2pm at Good Hope Baptist Church in Decatur with Rev. Bill Pearman, Rev. Kenneth Gardner officiating. The interment will follow at Cottonport Baptist Church Cemetery in Decatur with Jason Caldwell, Brian Caldwell, Nick Redmon, Chester Williams, Simon Hartness, Braden Jackson, Triston Jackson and Parker Caldwell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11am until 2pm Thursday at Good Hope Church. Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
