Edward Joe Davis

Edward Joe Davis, 76, of Old Fort passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born in Bradley County where he has spent most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Velma Davis, infant son, Dennis Edward Davis, sisters: Lillian Hall and Wilma Hall, brothers, L.T. Davis and Ray Davis, and a special friend, Jim Thompson.He worked in the grocery business for over 42 years. He worked at M.C. Headrick, Red Food and BiLo. He was a longtime member of Antioch Church of Christ in Old Fort.He is survived by his wife of 58 years Katherine Dill Davis; daughters: Joyce Russell (Robert), LaShonda Watson all of Old Fort; grandchildren Nathan Russell (Madison), Abby Watson and Ella Watson, brother: Lynn Davis along with several nieces and nephews.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Tuesday at 1pm at Antioch Church of Christ with Minister John Deck and Danny Jones officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rickey Dill, Scottie Davis, Nathan Russell, Robert Russell, Tommy Stokes, Roger Hall, Clint Ronk and Johnny Davis serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Madison Russell, Abby Watson and Ella Watson. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 8pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel and also Tuesday from 12 until service time at 1 o’clock at the church.Read Obituary
