Elizabeth "Beth" Carolyn Newport Hurst

Elizabeth Carolyn (Newport) Hurst was born on May 22, 1948 in Washington, DC. She was adopted by the late Burl Freeman Newport and Betty (Childers) Newport. Her husband, Lloyd Ronald Hurst and her brothers, Lloyd Newport and Randy Newport also preceded her in death. She was raised in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1966. She attended Erlanger School of Nursing and received her degree as a registered nurse. Beth spent over 40 years working as a nurse and loved caring for others. Throughout her career she worked in several capacities, most notable, were at Cleveland Community Hospital and Parkridge Medical Center as a cardiac nurse.She married Lloyd Ronald Hurst on October 2, 1974 and gave birth to their only daughter, Christa Leigh (Hurst) Ondrovich on April 21, 1976. Beth loved the Lord and her family more than anything. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed using those skills to help with the Enetha Circle Ladies Ministries at Westmore Church of God where she was a member for many years. She found the most joy in being “Nana” to her grandchildren, Jaden and Alyssa. She spent the years after Ron’s passing in North Dakota with Christa and the grandchildren so that she could be closer to them.Survivors include her Daughter, Christa Leigh Ondrovich and Husband, Christopher Ondrovich, Greenwood, Indiana; Grandson, Jaden Isaac Ondrovich, Greenwood, Indiana; Granddaughter, Alyssa Joelle Ondrovich, Greenwood, Indiana; Sister, Leeta Faye Newport, Montgomery, Alabama.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 1 P. M. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Christopher Ondrovich and Pastor Kelvin Page officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 11 A. M. until 1 P. M. Saturday at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel who has charge of the arrangements.
