Eugene Gene Garner

Eugene “Gene” Garner age 86 a resident of Cleveland passed away Saturday February 8, 2020 at the family residence after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Roy A. “Pat” and Mary A. Garner, and was also preceded his wife Sue Garner, his sons Paul E. and Lewis E. Garner his grandson Colby Chastain and several brothers and sisters. Gene was a retired truck driver. He also worked as a farmer, mechanic and school bus driver and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his grandchildren Andrea Garner, Faith G. Chastain, Dakota Knighten, great grandchildren Darwyn Howard, Briasha Garner, Hunter Meadows, Destiny Meadows, Halia Crump, Maddison Chastain, Nollie and Gracyn Knighten, great-great grandchildren Zaylen Meadows and Malachi Garner-Whaley, his daughter in law and caretaker Kathy Garner. A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 2pm Wednesday at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave Chapel with Rev. Jim Hibbard officiating. The interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dakota Knighten, Darwyn Howard, Hunter Meadows, Joshua Chastain Cecil Collins and Kyree Whaley serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 pm at the funeral home.Read Obituary
