Click Here to View Service Louise Knight Dupree, 93, of Cleveland, transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, August 17, 2020. She was born in Thomasville, Alabama on August 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Brigham M. Knight and Margaret Ann Knight. From an early age, Louise was involved in Christian ministry singing in a trio with her late brother, Cecil B. Knight and sister, Annie Knight O’Brien, in church revivals and camp meetings across the South. One of the old gospel songs they were known to sing was “Crooked Street.” Louise attended Bible Training School in Sevierville, Tennessee. After returning home she met her future husband, Kenneth Dupree, and later together they embarked in full-time ministry. As a pastor’s wife, Louise ministered alongside her husband in Louisville, Kentucky, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida and Gainesville, Florida while raising her two daughters, Annette and Denise, who were the delight of her life. After moving to Cleveland, Louise worked faithfully at the Church of God International Offices for many years and became a charter member of the Westmore Church of God. Louise remained faithful to the ministry of the local church as long as she was able. Some of these included East Ridge Church of God, The Crossing and God’s Family Fellowship, where she last attended. She was also faithful to support the ministry of Honoring the Father, an international sports evangelism ministry to Cuba, Central and South America founded by her son-in-law, Johnny Johnson, and her daughter Annette Johnson. Louise will be remembered for her great faithfulness to God and love for her family. She is survived by her sister, Annie Knight O’Brien of Chattanooga; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Knight of Cleveland whom she loved like a sister; her daughters, DeNise Dupree of Cleveland, Annette Johnson (Johnny) of Ocala, FL. Two grandchildren, Jennifer Whittington (Darryl) of Ocala, FL and Jonathan Johnson (Kristin) of Columbia, SC. Five grandchildren, Jessica and Dylan Whittington of Ocala,FL and Tucker, McKade and Susannah Johnson of Columbia, SC., as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Louise is fondly remembered by her last caregivers singing, “Crooked Street.” The chorus of this song aptly describes her heavenly home: “I’m glad I moved from Crooked Street to Glory Avenue.” The Remembrance of Life Service and Entombment will be held private for the family at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doug Bell officiating. Family and Friends will serve as casket bearers. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Honoring the Father Ministries, 1183 S.
