Genelle Hardin went peacefully to be with the Lord at home surrounded by her family on September 9, 2022. Born in Ashland, Alabama in 1934 she was one of nine children born to Rueben and Hattie Prickett. She was a loving wife, mother of five children, and grandmother to 17 children and a wonderful great grandmother. She married the love of her life Floyd Hardin in 1951 and they would relocate to Gary, Indiana where they would raise their family. In 1977 they would relocate to Cleveland Tennessee and several years later would acquire Award Realty. Genelle would serve as the broker and would become Realtor of the Year in 1998 as well as serving the River Counties Association of Realtors in different capacities. She was a gifted servant and throughout the years would serve her church and support various non-profit organizations throughout Bradley County. To sum up Genelle’s life all you have to do is read Proverbs 31 and you will find an accurate description of the noble character she was and the life she lived. She was a member of the North Cleveland Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Hardin and was married 63 years. In addition to Floyd she was preceded in death by her parents Rueben and Hattie Prickett, her siblings Ruby Maples, Francis Berry, Jakie Prickett, Johnnie Prickett, James Prickett, Polly Fielding and 2 grandchildren Allan Hardin Jr. and Cameron Eliza Sweeney. She is survived by her sisters Annie Williams, and Sarah Hammond, her children Allan Hardin (Shauna), Marcia Botts (Dennis), Teresa Ramage (Tommy), Lorrie Kenney (Tom), and David Hardin (Tracey), her 17 grandchildren, Brent Hardin, Jessica Hunter, Dr. Ben Sweeney, Olivia Gravelle, Matt Botts, Kaitlin Botts, Zack Botts, Caiden Botts, Cindy Shields, Tommy Ramage Jr., Lisa Marano, Shannon Fella, Brook Kenney, Blake Ramage, Mason Rose, Heather Crowe, Jenner Hardin and a number of great grandchildren. In addition, the family would like to thank her loving care givers Luda Voytsa and Penney Bauknecht. The family would also like to thank Hospice of Chattanooga. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday, September 13 at 12:00 PM at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Rev. Mitch Maloney and Dr. Luther Johnson officiating the service. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens and will be held privately for the family. Pall bearers will be David Hardin, Dr. Ben Sweeney, Brent Hardin, Dr. Justin Kenney, Mason Rose, and Mark Gravelle. Honorary Pall Bearers will include Thomas Hunter, Caiden Botts, and Blake Ramage. The family will receive friends Monday September 12th from 5pm until 8pm and again Tuesday from 11am until service time at 12pm at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to New Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center in Cleveland, Tennessee or the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
