Hattie Melvina Moore Lingerfelt, age 78, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Thursday evening in a Chattanooga health care facility. Melvina was the daughter of the late Nancy Edith Garrett Moore and Jewell Charles Moore. Several extended family members also preceded her in death. Melvina was retired from McKee Foods with over 20 years of service. She loved the outdoors including camping and hiking. She also loved to cook and sew. Her family and her church family was her life! She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She had a caregivers heart and took care of a lot of her own family members. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Ooltewah where she taught adults as well as children in Sunday School Class. Melvina was known for her servants heart and was a worker at her church where she was content in staying in the background and doing what needed to be done.Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Ford and her husband Michael of Georgetown, her grandchildren, Rachel Ford of Cleveland and Jacob Ford of Georgetown, her aunt, Flora Kadlitz of Apison, Tennessee and several cousins also survive.The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 6:00 P. M. at the Fairview Baptist Church in Ooltewah with Reverend Perry McAllister officiating. Interment will follow in the Plowman Cemetery in Apison with family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P. M. Sunday at the Fairview Baptist Church. The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
