Herbert Donald Holder Jr., age 86, a resident of Rossville Ga., passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 in a Chattanooga health care facility. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Holder; his father, Herbert Holder Sr. and his mother, Nellie Holder; 2 brothers, Morris and Jerry Holder; his son, Herbert Donald Holder III; his granddaughter, Angela Honeycutt, and his grandson, Eric Burkett.He loved the beach, his family and to ride his motorcycle. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.He is survived by his children, Millie Briner & husband Dennis of Creve Coure, IL, Donna Mathis and her husband John of Campobello of SC, Renee Merritt of Creve Coure, IL, and Herbert Donald “Donnie” “Herbie” Holder III; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews, one aunt from Cleveland TN, and many friends in Chattanooga and Gadsden Ala.A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. with Rev. Jim Hibbard officiating. The interment will follow at the Veterans Section of Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors and family and friends serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.Due to current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve.
